Man arrested for murder, dismemberment
It’s one of the more disturbing alleged crimes in recent memory. Twenty-year-old Jason Fisher is in jail at this hour for the first-degree murder of David Mason over a year ago.
Fisher is accused of shooting Mason to death on May 13, 2004, then mutilating as well as dismembering the corpse afterwards. On June 25th of that year, after a car registered to Fisher was impounded after a pursuit with Alaska State Troopers, a pursuit in which Fisher and another person would escape on foot, Troopers found a human head, an assortment of knives, axes, a machete and a mason jar containing the tattooed flesh of an arm and a human ear. Further investigation revealed the human parts as that of David Mason.Fisher, who has a previous criminal history on drug offenses, was under investigation in Mason’s disappearance. Alaska State Troopers say Fisher would constantly make jokes to undercover informants about Mason’s demise. Also, an eyewitness to the murder told Troopers that Fisher had shot and killed Mason.
Fisher was arrested Wednesday. During interviews, he stated he did not kill Mason. However, he is said to have admitted to people he killed Mason quote, “because he was trying to make himself look big.”
“[he] is a flight risk and poses a danger to the community,” said Helen Hickman, Assistant District Attorney.
Fairbanks District Court Magistrate Patrick Hammers set bail for Fisher at $1 million and set a preliminary hearing for October 21.

i know jason fisher and i belive that he is crazy
HELLO!?!?! If you even knew him you would know that he had gotten into drugs a VERY young age. I've known him for a very long time. I still can't believe he did it but he was going to tip over the edge sooner or later. It's all about the way he was raised, If you knew him you would know what I mean.

I knew them all in the early 2000s. I actually dated Avi Keys in high school, his involvement and dissapearance are just crazy, I could never imagine Avi being involved. Jason on the other hand... he did it, no question. He was okay when sober, but after being up tweeking for a few days he prety much lost it, he could not handle his drugs at all. I doubt anyone is following this feed anymore, its old news, but seiously, I am curious to know if anyone knows anything about Avi's dissapearance, he was a good friend and I have always thought that he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Oh, we are following. We are. Jason is capapable, and so are his friends.
I think about David every year. He will always be in my heart. I have read this several times, still can't believe he is gone.
Jason fisher from what I remembered was harmless until the drug use became so profound that he lost control. We were friends, party buddies, briefly on and off room mate. I disagree with what he has done and understand the outrage of others but I can honestly say that the drugs, especially meth, will make and angle a demon in a second. I worked at the halfway house while he was there and remeber the day he left. He said to me I have to go and, beingthat we could not detain anyone, I had to let him go. I saw him once after that in that stupid huge jacked up camro I want to say, he was completely bald at that point wearing a long black trench coat and the last thing he said was if they ask you have not seen me. I watched him go from shy quiet but nice guy to a morally empty shell of a human in the course of maybe 4 years. Meth deprives any human of a moral compass. After being awake so long reality does not exist anymore.
I'm not trying to justify what he did by any means. It was horrible and brutal. No one deserves to die that way,but I do want there to be clarification on what led to this.

David Mason’s daughter was a baby when he was killed and she’s doing good for those who knew him
