Susan Butcher

Susan Butcher of Iditarod fame, and the inspiration for the saying "Alaska, where men are men and women win the Iditarod" was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia, a blood disorder. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant. The Blood Bank of Alaska is organizing a statewide donor drive on Dec. 30. It is a simple blood test and if you do not match with Butcher, you will be put in the National Marrow Donor Program and you can help someone else.
