Photojournalists

On C-span 2 Book TV, yes Book TV it is an oxymoron, but Keal Alford, Thorne Anderson, and Rita Leistner, had a Q&A on their new book of photos on their coverage of the war in Iraq, Unembedded. Ghaith Abdui-Ahad was not there but he is the fourth photojournalists that contribute to the book. Phillip Robertson was there too, he is a journalist for Salom.com and wrote the foreword.

These four photojournalists take a look at Iraq, without the security or the eyes of the US government military. It is a unique look at war and the real life of the Iraqi people, in a time of war. For some photos and more info go to http://www.unembedded.net here is a little from their Press release.
In a New Book and Exhibit, Four Independent Photojournalists Reveal the Efforts of “Unembedded” War Reporters and Realities of Iraq WarThrough the US military’s embedded journalism program, America has become accustomed to photos made from inside the US military cordon, removed from the day to day realities of Iraq. In sharp contrast to the sound-bite depth of most embedded news coverage, though, independent journalists and photojournalists continue to work in Iraq, running the risks associated with war coverage, spending the time it takes to report without the protection of the military. Now four award-winning photojournalists reveal the efforts of the “unembedded” media in Iraq. Their collected works appear in Unembedded: Four Independent Photojournalists on the War in Iraq, to be released this November by Chelsea Green.

Bad news, Bad news and some Good news

First the bad news, well my mom has totaled her car. For the passed two day it has been in the teens and the roads have become a sheet of ice. She is ok, she is more up set then anything else, but now she is carless.

Bad news number two, something has been eating my postings. I have made two postings and now they are gone. Lost in cyberspace, never to be seen again, maybe there with the two e-mails that got lost last week, doing some unspeakable to each other. I hope that they are happy together. But I do wish that they would come home, even though wishing will not make it happen.

How to the good news, I GOT MY FINSNCIAL AID BACK!!!!! It was more then I thought it would be, AAAHHHH for me! The wallet was looking pretty empty lately. After paying some bills, the order for the Nikon will be made.

So some more good news, Cracker will be playing at the Blue Loon Friday night and I will be in the front row!

The good have out weigh the bad, think god. And hopefully this will post and I will be able to have the time to post more.
