What we keep

All day I spent packing up for my move to my new place. It is strange what we keep, we keep things at the time meant something to us, but now you have no clue what that meaning is.

I went through some boxes from my last move that for some reason had keep written on the side. When I saw the boxes I thought that when I opened them, a flood of old memory would come rushing in my head but no. The boxes were full of old papers, bills, and phone number, with names of people that I don’t know or I don’t remember. For some reason I thought that I needed the things, but now I look at this papers and think, “There are a lot of dead trees in this box.” Well my shredder will be working overtime.

Old finds

I was looking throw some old essays, and come along this. I have forgotten that I really liked writing and that I was not that bad. This is a Style assignment from 2000.
The writing process is like getting your teeth drilled and pulled. With each thought, you have to drill deep in your mind to come up with the words and then pull them out to put on the paper. Some come with ease others take brut strength and a lot of blood, sweat and tears as the words scream onto the page. When that is done, you start all over again. Each paragraph is a new drill, a new pull until you have no more teeth left.

Man arrested for murder, dismemberment

It’s one of the more disturbing alleged crimes in recent memory. Twenty-year-old Jason Fisher is in jail at this hour for the first-degree murder of David Mason over a year ago.

Fisher is accused of shooting Mason to death on May 13, 2004, then mutilating as well as dismembering the corpse afterwards. On June 25th of that year, after a car registered to Fisher was impounded after a pursuit with Alaska State Troopers, a pursuit in which Fisher and another person would escape on foot, Troopers found a human head, an assortment of knives, axes, a machete and a mason jar containing the tattooed flesh of an arm and a human ear. Further investigation revealed the human parts as that of David Mason.

Fisher, who has a previous criminal history on drug offenses, was under investigation in Mason’s disappearance. Alaska State Troopers say Fisher would constantly make jokes to undercover informants about Mason’s demise. Also, an eyewitness to the murder told Troopers that Fisher had shot and killed Mason.

Fisher was arrested Wednesday. During interviews, he stated he did not kill Mason. However, he is said to have admitted to people he killed Mason quote, “because he was trying to make himself look big.”

“[he] is a flight risk and poses a danger to the community,” said Helen Hickman, Assistant District Attorney.

Fairbanks District Court Magistrate Patrick Hammers set bail for Fisher at $1 million and set a preliminary hearing for October 21.

I don't know what this town is coming to, it was a nice place to live.

Sundays with out the Bulgarian

Worked my first Sunday with out Boris. It sucked, big time! Even though Emma and I had a good laugh at Driscal catchphrase and even laughed harder when he came in the store. But, It was not the same.

Sunday morning Boris left to go back home to Bulgaria. That Bulgarian knew how to made work fun and he always made me laugh. Who is going to teach me Bulgarian cuss words and talk European new with me now? Daiba!!!! Daiba!!!

I was missing him before he left and how I miss him more. There is good news, he did get a contract for work next summer. Now he just have to get the visas, as he would say, “it up to the man behind the thick glass.” Well we will know in 5 months.

Saturday wedding

Dillon and Eva got married on Saturday the 8th of October.
It was a beautiful day for a wedding, the sky was cleared and the sun was shinning, even the temperature was pleasant. But, Eva did say “I’m cold lets get married.”
I didn’t take my camera, so I don’t have any pictures, but I stole some picture from Dillon’s blog. I did ask first but I didn't wait for his reply. I know that he would say it was ok, if not too late.
The wedding was a small ceremony but totally Alaskan. At their small cabin they exchanged the vows, as friends and dogs looked on.

Even the neighbor’s dog team chimed in with some hallowing, when Dillon kissed his bride.

I was honored, that they let be there on their happy day.

I wish all three of them (Dillon, Eva, and Kuba) a long and happy life together.

Who thought a virgin would be so funny?

Boris, Will, Jana (but you pronounce it Yana, she is czech), and I went to see the Movie “40 Year-Old Virgin” Friday night. I didn’t pick the movie, thinking it would be one of those movies that only 14 year-olds boys would find funny. I do have to say I laughed my ass off, I was laughing so hard that I was crying. Yes the movie is about men, sex, more sex and not getting any, but you have to love a man that would have his chest hairs pulled out, to get layed and I have not seen an apple bong in years. Even the chick flick ending is funny, which I give great points too.
